This explains how to convert first character of the word to the upper case and rest to the lower case.

Oracle has a function by the name, INITCAP used to convert first character of the word to the upper case and rest of the word characters to the lower case characters.

Syntax: INITCAP (str)

Ex1: INITCAP (‘eggheadcafe forum’)
This returns ‘Eggheadcafe Forum’ as the result.

Ex2: INITCAP (‘EGGHEADCAFE FORUM’)
This returns ‘Eggheadcafe Forum’ as the result

Note: Here, each word first character is converted to upper case character
