DBTIMEZONE function in oracle

This explains how to get the Database Time zone information that is set to the current session.

There is function by the name, DBTIMEZONE  for fetching the current Database Time zone that is set to the current session. It mostly returns in the format of ‘[+/-]TZH:TZM’

Syntax: DBTIMEZONE  

Ex: SELECT DBTIMEZONE from DUAL;

Note: The value returned will be changed based on the alter session command issued for the session and also varies the time zone if specified as part of the alter session command, and also the time zone value set in the Oracle Database.
