Following are the drawback of not setting SET Options properly while working with XML Data Types

• Indexed View cannot be created.
• A computed Column cannot be created.
• Problem with Query Optimizer failing to consider the index in the execution plan for any SQL Query.
• Any data values that are affected in the index by either of any INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE statement will cause in Database Engine generating error and rolls back the changes.
