IIS - Using Single SSL certificate on multiple websites.

Asked By karur krishna madhu on 03-Jul-13 03:02 AM
how to use the same SSL certificate on multiple websites with same HTTPS and same port no :443. I have an unassigned ip address for both the websites as of now and i dont want to make it as a dedicated IP address for both the websites.Any help shall be appreciated.

I'm not sure you can do that with multiple base domain names even though the ip address is the same.  I get certificates here for about $100 a piece.  I can't imagine they are that expensive anywhere else.  Is there a reason you don't just buy a certificate for each base domain name (*.nullskull.com)?

Hi morris,
I work in hewlett packard (India) and we have a valid veri sign certificate. I am using the same certificate, but the issue is with  two websites configured with SSL (I need SSL as the server is in Demilitarised zone). i tried with different port no's for ssl but of no use.Is there a way to make this work with out changing the unassigned IP address for the two websites?Or assigning the dedicated IP address is the solution for this.

I believe the certificates are done by the domain and not by the ip address.  That's how ours are anyway.
