Microsoft Excel - I want to use if function on a cell IF it has a date otherwise return leave cell empty

Asked By Ken Duke on 15-Jul-14 07:28 AM
Ok, I am using an if function to return a message =IF(NOW()-F3>1,"OVERDUE",""), but some cells will NOT have a date and I don't want the message to appear. Thanks in advance

Hi Ken,
What about:
=IF(NOW()*(F4<>"")-F4>1,"OVERDUE","")
or
=IF(NOW()*ISNUMBER(F3)-F3>1,"OVERDUE","")
Regards
Harry

Hi Ken,
What do the cells that don't work have in them?
Harry

Hello again Ken,
Try this:
=IF(NOW()*ISNUMBER(F4)-IF(ISNUMBER(F4),F4,0)>1,"OVERDUE","")
