I have a problem, In full text search of SQL Server 2000, i could not get the results of Some words which are not present in the Dictionary, so i want to add some words in the dictionary, HOW?
      Please solve my query ASAP.

I believe this is it... - Asked By Robbe Morris on 16-Jun-01 09:15 AM

1. Open SQL Server Enterprise Manager
2. Click Search Tab
3. Type: dictionary entry

This will give you several options for adding
words to English Query. I don't think the standard
FREETEXT or CONTAIN clause uses the dictionary
in a normal Full Text Search. If I remember correctly,
English Query uses the dictionary only.

Are you sure you've rebuilt the full text search
to grab those entries with your specific problem
keywords. The New Code Samples shows how to perform
this task with VBScript if you need it.

What about Full text search - Asked By Sandesh Moghe on 19-Jul-14 02:51 AM

Thank you very much for providing me
such valuable information.Means i can
not add new word for FULL Text search.
Or any other way?
Also suppose i want to check the spelling
of data through Stored Procedure, is it possible?

What word are you having problems with? - Asked By Robbe Morris on 18-Jun-01 08:09 AM

I run FULL Text Search and have never run into a problem with a word not being found.

As far as the spell check goes, SQL Server doesn't appear to have a spell checking mechanism. I think you'll want to handle this via access to some COM component (MS Word maybe) "outside" the database procedures.
Words are related to project... - Asked By Sandesh Moghe on 19-Jul-14 02:51 AM
 I am working on an
automobile project.There
are some words which are
related to this field only.
      For example, Hypoid
and if user enters "Hypoids"
then it is not showing the
result.
      Also, Robbe, can i
write a trigger to populate
the full text catalog?How?
I'll have to check those words out... - Asked By Robbe Morris on 18-Jun-01 11:15 AM
...I don't use triggers much in SQL Server. However, this a VBScript sample for doing this in the Tips & Tricks section on the home page here.
