ASP - display dynamic button - Asked By Imran Khurshid on 19-Jul-14 02:53 AM

i'm trying to make Amendments to a journals Renewal Page.

"A dynamic button will need to be created. This will be populated above the Submit button if the journal is: JNI, JDW and IDR: if radio number 12,18,06,22,26 or 21 (organisation) are ticked and 04 or 13 (seniority) are ticked then the button should appear. Any other option and the button will not appear.
JAR : if number 37,38,39,40,42,43,31,27,36,19,28 or 49 (organisation) are ticked and 13 or 18 (seniority) are ticked then the button should appear. Any other option and the button will not appear.
The button will need to be created in similar style to the "Submit to secure server" button and should read "Recommend a Colleague" . Some text will need to appear above the button. Same client-side validation as main submit button."

Client side? - Asked By Robbe Morris on 18-Jun-01 08:15 AM

Does this require that the various buttons be visible/hidden based on client side events?

If not, I would think a few conditional statements in your ASP pages could dynamically create the appropriate HTML for you.

My guess, though is that you are required to react to client side events and hide or show buttons. If so, I think you'll have to put the buttons inside of a DIV tag. You can make the DIV tag visible/hidden which should then make the buttons visible/hidden . If you choose this approach, make sure you look up the different syntax for NS and IE as each's style property settings are slightly different. In IE, you can also populate the DIV tag's .innerHTML property to store or remove HTML which include input tags for buttons. I don't remember whether this is available in NS though.

Unfortunately, I don't have a ready to order sample for doing this. But, this should get you started.
